Wake Life information

Booking & Weather Policy

Clear, practical information about planning a private charter on Lake Maraetai.

1 · Booking & confirmation

Booking a private charter

Wake Life accepts availability enquiries by phone, text, email and the website enquiry form. A booking is not confirmed until Wake Life has confirmed the date, time, charter type and any payment or deposit details directly with you.

Every charter is tailored to the group, so the booking confirmation is the best place to record the agreed details. This may include the number of guests, price, charter duration, meeting instructions, and any coaching or special requests.

Client check before launch: confirm any minimum charter duration and the standard deposit amount or timing. The existing site refers to deposits but does not state an amount or payment deadline.

2 · Weather

Good conditions come first.

Wake Life will not take guests out in poor conditions simply to keep a booking. A private charter should be enjoyable and safe, and weather or water conditions may mean that a session needs to be changed, postponed or cancelled.

If a booking is mutually cancelled because of weather, Wake Life offers a 100% refund of all deposits paid. Where practical, Wake Life will also work with guests to find an alternative date or time.

Final decisions about conditions are made by Wake Life. Guests are encouraged to get in touch early if weather is a concern.

3 · Changes & cancellations

Keep us informed.

If you need to change your plans, contact Wake Life as soon as possible. Wake Life will endeavour to accommodate reasonable changes where availability allows.

Any non-weather cancellation, rescheduling or no-show arrangements will be discussed at the time of booking until a final cancellation policy is confirmed and published.

Client check before launch: confirm the non-weather cancellation notice period, refund rules and no-show policy. The legacy site only specifies the weather-refund commitment.

4 · Participation & safety

Respect the lake, the boat and the people on board.

Guests must follow Wake Life’s instructions while on or around the boat. This includes directions about boarding, lifejackets or other safety equipment, riding, swimming, moving around the vessel and behaviour on the water.

Wake Life may decline or end participation where behaviour is unsafe, where a guest appears impaired, or where conditions make the activity unsuitable. Parents and guardians are responsible for children in their care.

Please tell Wake Life about anything relevant to your group before the charter, including confidence in the water, particular support needs, medical considerations or children joining the session.

5 · Photos & video

Capturing the day.

Wake Life may take photographs or video during a charter. Please tell Wake Life before the session if anyone in your group does not wish to be photographed or filmed. Any public use of identifiable guest imagery should be handled with the appropriate permission.
